You may visit us here by clicking this link http://www.facebook.com/medsuppguru Since I am a veteran. I know many people who suffer from PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). I also suffer from PTSD. In dealing with life insurance and PTSD, it is sometimes hard to get a company to accept you if you have it. some companies just won’t give you any life insurance. The company’s I do have available will accept people with PTSD. However, you may pay a higher price for it. I know that doesn’t sound fair to someone who has served our country and especially served in a wartime situation. the only overseas deployment was when I went to Honduras back in 1985. so I have a special respect for veterans that served in a combat situation.
I want to make sure that you understand that I will do anything I can to help you get life insurance. I’m guessing but since you did serve in a combat situation, you must have a new appreciation of Life Insurance. I surely don’t mean to condescend anyone by saying that. Let me tell you a little bit about my PTSD experiences. my PTSD does not come from a combat situation. It comes from a traumatic childhood. So I know you can’t really compare the two, but at least I know what PTSD in and of itself is. I have taken just about every medicine available for my condition. Some companies will accept a person with PTSD if they know everything’s under control. Others may have to dig into your medical records a little bit more to see what’s going on. capital This matters especially if you apply for term insurance. sometimes if you are just applying for whole life insurance or final expense insurance you will just have to answer some questions and they will either accept you or decline you so it might be easier to get whole life insurance rather than term life. It just depends on which company you apply to. Also, let me tell you that the sooner you get life insurance based on your youngest age it will be the least expensive at that point. Also, it’s important to say that it’s recommended for you to have an outside policy if you’re working with an employer, most of the time if something happens with your job- you can’t take your insurance with you.
Most employers will only give you term insurance. in my opinion, you need term life insurance and whole life insurance as a mixture. if you are in your twenties or thirties it’s best to start off with term life insurance and then try to add some whole life insurance as you can’t afford it. let me just add that term insurance does not build cash value. with whole life insurance after about 18 to 24 months you will have a cash value. It will continue to build cash value as long as you have the policy. Some of the companies available have an accidental death rider that can be put on the policy and it will pay out double indemnity to your beneficiary. so that means if you have a $50,000 life insurance policy and get killed in an accident your beneficiary will receive $100,000. Most of the time the insurance companies do not charge you extra for having this benefit. If you have other conditions plus PTSD, this will affect your ability to get life insurance. however, I do have companies available that no matter what condition you have you’ll be able to get life insurance. again, it may cost you more but your ability to get life insurance will be your right. as a life insurance professional, I will make sure you get the best rate available to you. So please don’t let the price stop you from obtaining a life insurance program for you and especially if you have a family. I also have a way to save you and your family thousands of dollars on discounts for burial products. this is invaluable. for example, if you buy a $10,000 life insurance policy from a competitor since the funeral cost is almost $8,000 the $8,000 is going to go to the funeral home, not your loved ones. with some of the companies, I have available you can save thousands of dollars and give more of a love gift to your family. Also, that discount for funeral products is for your whole household, not just you. This is an incredible deal! There are only a few insurance companies that are doing this.
If your life insurance company is not doing this then I wholeheartedly recommend you switch NOW! You may think oh no I don’t want to make any changes, it’s too much trouble plus I can come up with a few extra thousand dollars to pay for my funeral. Or my Mom or Sister or Brother or my kids will all chip in to help. Let me make this perfectly clear, most of the time that does not happen. Your loved ones have bills. If they are like most the American families, they are living from paycheck to paycheck. If they have 5 or 8 thousand dollars it took a while to build their savings. It hurts to pull that money out of anything. It’s surely not that they don’t want to help you, it’s something that they are going to struggle with and it should NOT be their responsibility it’s YOURS! So take advantage of everything available. Also, let me talk about our condition.
I have to put out a HUGE disclaimer. I am not a doctor or psychologist or psychiatrist or social worker. I would like to attempt to give you some ideas if you are still struggling. It took me several years. For a long while, I didn’t take medication. Along with PTSD, I had depression and anxiety. I was in denial about my depression especially but knew for certain, I had anxiety. I finally sought help and like a lot of us do when we first are on meds we may think we are cured if they work and stop taking them. That’s what I did. Then I started again and I got to a point in my life that the meds stopped working and wanted to stop them again. I struggle with getting on the right combination of meds. I started counseling. If you are a man reading this, that’s the last thing I wanted to do. I am a veteran, I am tough, I don’t want to talk about my problems. But I did. I didn’t have the best start in finding a good counselor. So I quit that. I went to a few others and it helped some. I finally went to the VA for counseling and happened to get a counselor that was phenomenal. I believe that it takes the right counselor and the right therapy to finally start working. This is when I received ACT-acceptance and commitment therapy and CBT- cognitive behavioral therapy that made a difference. It took a lot of work and it took time. I am still working on things and yes I am still taking my meds.
I have done mindfulness either every day or every 2 days. I have read books, downloaded apps for my phone on anxiety or depression. Most of the positive changes started happening when I started challenging my thoughts. You have heard the old saying “you are what you eat”. Well “you are what you think”. It takes practice to have a thought in your mind like “this is the 5th time somebody hung up on me today when talking to them about insurance, I have had it, I think I will just quit!. Or you get into an argument with your spouse or your boss or coworker.
Then thoughts start going through your mind like: “I’m tired of being treated this way, I will just walk out of here and not come back” Even though you might have been at your job for 4 years and you do good work. It’s a fight or argument with your boss. It happens but don’t let one argument ruin what good works you have done. Part of people think is called (all or nothing thinking). It is when you just say: I have had it! And walkout. You tell yourself the one argument means ALL is bad or ALL is lost. However, that’s not reality. You had one bad day. You couldn’t help one person. It doesn’t mean ALL is lost. At the moment, it’s hard to settle yourself down if there has been a heated exchange. This is what you have to do to help yourself change your thoughts. Another way to look at it is this simple illustration. If you have a dozen eggs and 2 are bad, would you throw ALL of them out? No just 2 were bad. Anyway, if you are still struggling, I encourage you to keep working to get better. That’s all I am going to say. Now back to the subject of life insurance.
